Worcester-based vocal and guitar duo specialising in 80s music, while covering songs from every decade and many genres.
Performing with either custom-produced backing tracks or a stripped-back acoustic setup, Mel & Him bring decades of collective musical experience to weddings, parties, clubs and live music venues.
Our Story
Inspired by an 80s school disco themed birthday party.

Mel & Him began performing in 2013 after discovering just how much people loved celebrating classic 80s music. What started as one themed event quickly grew into a busy performing schedule, eventually leading to appearances in more than 150 venues across the UK.

Melanie
Lead vocals
Vocalist, clarinettist, saxophonist and former music teacher with experience ranging from orchestras and concert halls to jazz groups, chamber ensembles and live bands.

Mel began her musical journey at the age of four, studying clarinet before progressing to Grade 8.
She performed with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra and London Schools Symphonic Band, including appearances at the Royal Albert Hall.
Following a varied career as performer and teacher, she moved to the Midlands and eventually met Stuart through local choirs.
Stuart
Guitar and vocals
Multi-instrumentalist, arranger, recording engineer and songwriter with experience spanning rock bands, orchestras, session work and live performance.

Stuart taught himself guitar and bass at the age of 11 and played his first live performance before turning 12...
He later studied Popular Music and Recording at Salford University and has worked extensively as both a performer and recording musician.
He has appeared on video game soundtracks, commercial recordings, and continues to perform guitar and bass throughout the Midlands.
